Happy New Year! It's only been a couple of years since our last news update.... So much has happened I could write a book. But instead I'll just let you know that after a couple of banner years The Transfer Studio is excited about the coming year as we will be expanding by opening a permanent Kiosk at Nanaimo's Country Club Centre Mall. This new location will be the hub of our customer service and will also be able to transfer many formats such as VHS, VHS-C, Video8, Hi8, Digital8 and Beta Video tapes to DVD right on location. This will enable us to provide same and next day service to many of our clients.
This past holiday season saw us busier than ever and although we completed all jobs in time for the season many customers had to wait up to six weeks for completion of their projects. We are already taking steps to make sure that next year we don't get caught off guard again. By expanding our business to include the new Kiosk, purchasing new equipment, streamlining our processes and hiring two part time staff members I am confident that customers in 2012 will be amazed at how fast the turnaround time will be on their transfer projects.
On that note we are currently accepting resumes for the part time position of Customer Representative/Transfer Technician. Applicants must have a valid BC drivers license, strong computer skills, preferably some customer service, retail experience and a strong work ethic. Well it's been awhile since we have had a news update and there's a lot of news to tell. We are having a blast helping people access, share and enjoy their home movies photos and slides. This year we have helped hundreds of families, individuals and companies with our services. We have have made some major upgrades to our studio to keep up with the demand adding over $10,000.00 worth of the latest high tech equipment to our ever expanding studio facility. We also purchased a new Honda Element as our Transferstudiomobile and have enjoyed our excursions to Vernon and Kelowna helping the folks out there with a multitude of projects.
We are really excited about the amazing advances in Social Media, mainly Facebook, Utube and Twitter We are busy creating a whole bunch of new services that will allow our customers to experience and share their home movies in a whole new way. We encourage you to check out our Facebook page and join our mailing list to keep track of these exciting changes and enjoy some membership privileges.

We had a great time at the at the Coast Bastion last night and were happy to support the Vancouver Island Raiders Football Club. The fundraising dinner was in support of their scholarship program which helps players come and play football in Nanaimo while attending the University. The keynote speaker Sherko Haji-Rasouli #55 from the BC Lions had a very inspirational speech. His message about creating opportunities for young men made a lot of sense and his personal success story was both motivational and moving.

Well it's been a while and we have lots of news to share with you! We have added 3/4 inch Umatic Video Tape to the list of video formats we transfer to DVD. We were part of the Nanaimo SPCA Day at Country Club Centre and were pleased to donate $100.00 for our table, also we donated our services transferring a bite smart for kids dog safety video to DVD.
Customers have taken full advantage of our new free 50' film transfer demo. To date 100% of customers who have had a free 50' film transfer demo made were so impressed with our quality that they went on to have their entire film collections transfereed to DVD by The Transfer Studio.

We have upgraded our film transfer equipment to offer even better quality 8mm and Super 8 film transfers.
"The custom made telecine unit from New York city is just amazing! The expanded gate allows us to capture more of the film frame, the improved clarity and flicker free image mean overall better quality.
